Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a form of outpatient treatment that involves partial daycare at Sonas Wellness & Recovery while receiving addiction treatment. PHP differs from traditional inpatient or outpatient treatments by combining intensive therapy with the flexibility to return home or to sober living environments. Once a client completes their detox and inpatient/residential treatment, PHP serves as a transition step that follows, or as an alternative to inpatient treatment, depending on the patient’s needs. This program allows clients the freedom to go home or to sober living after day treatment.
A typical day in a Partial Hospitalization Program may include a variety of activities designed to address both the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction, such as:
- Group therapy
- Psych-educational groups
- Skill-building sessions
- Individual therapy addressing issues driving addictive behaviors
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a phase of treatment offered to addiction patients who have already completed, or do not need, detoxification and inpatient treatments. At Sonas, this gradual step-down from more acute treatments is designed to provide more freedom, such as continuing to work and live at home or in sober living, while attending programming and building confidence in using new coping skills.
IOP includes various services to help you or your loved one thrive, all personalized to the unique needs and goals of each client:
Personalized Objectives: Set between you and your therapist, focusing on recovery skills.
Therapy Sessions: Occur multiple times a week, with optional progress reports sent to your sponsor and/or family.
Group Therapy: Held three days a week, fostering empathy and support through shared experiences.
